Ensuring caregiver coverage, maintaining continuity when absences occur

24/7 Caregiver Services are designed for seniors who require ongoing caregiver coverage and for families who need assurance that care can continue when an assigned caregiver is unexpectedly unavailable. The Lead Caregiver Program provides coverage for necessary shifts, including situations where a caregiver becomes ill and cannot report to work. In Macomb County and throughout the service area, this approach helps maintain continuity of caregiver support without leaving a client without assistance during an unexpected absence.

01

How It Works

The Lead Caregiver Program may provide the following coverage:

01

Coverage for each shift when necessary

02

Senior caregiver support when an assigned caregiver is unavailable

03

Replacement caregiver coverage when a caregiver becomes sick

04

Continued care until the regular caregiver is able to return

05

Condition-specific caregiver training

06

Ongoing caregiver coverage as part of the client’s care arrangement

02

What to Expect

When an assigned caregiver cannot report to work because of illness, a Senior Caregiver can take over the shift so the client continues receiving care. The replacement caregiver provides coverage until the regular caregiver returns. This service is specifically focused on maintaining caregiver availability and continuity when an unexpected staffing absence occurs.
